Dr. Joon Y. Park is a biomedical researcher and exercise scientist in the Department of Health, Human Performance, and Recreation at Baylor University’s Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences.​Working in close collaboration with experts across disciplines, Dr. Park leads a research program that applies cutting-edge approaches—including microfluidics systems, multi-omics technologies, and machine learning platforms—to investigate mitochondrial dynamics, mechanotransduction, and inter-organ communication. His work has been consistently supported by federal and foundation funding agencies, reflecting its innovation and translational relevance.

Dr. Park is equally committed to mentorship and STEM education, training undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral scholars. His trainees have earned highly competitive national awards and fellowships, including the NIH MARC U-STAR, NIDDK STEP-UP, Barry Goldwater Scholarship, and American Heart Association Pre- and Postdoctoral Fellowships.​

Beyond his research and teaching, Dr. Park contributes to the scientific community through service as a journal editor, grant reviewer, committee member, and working group participant, advancing the fields of cardiovascular, metabolic, and exercise sciences.
